440Hz Sine Wave (A4 Note)

How to Verify Your Audio Output

Troubleshooting sound issues can be frustrating. This tool provides a reliable, neutral reference signal that eliminates variables like video player volume, file corruption, or codec issues. If you can hear the tone generated above, your hardware and browser are functioning correctly.

Why a Sine Wave?

We use a pure 440Hz sine wave because it is the most fundamental building block of sound. Unlike music which has complex harmonics, a sine wave has a single frequency. This makes it ideal for detecting:

  • Speaker distortion or "rattling"
  • Buzzing at specific frequencies
  • Imbalanced volume levels
