Hearing Range Test
How high can you hear? Test your upper frequency limit. Most adults can hear up to 15-17kHz, while children can often hear up to 20kHz.
Safety First
Set your volume to a comfortable level (approx 50%) before starting. High frequency tones can be piercing.

High Frequency Hearing Test
This test checks the upper limits of your hearing range. While standard hearing tests focus on speech intelligibility (500Hz - 4kHz), testing up to 18kHz can reveal the "air" and detail perception capabilities of your ears and equipment.
Why Can't I Hear High Frequencies?
- Age (Presbycusis): It is natural to lose sensitivity to high frequencies as we age. Hair cells in the inner ear that respond to high pitches are the first to degrade.
- Equipment Limits: Many consumer Bluetooth headphones roll off sound sharply above 16kHz to save battery or bandwidth.
- Audio Compression: Streaming services (Spotify, YouTube) use compression that often discards high-frequency data because "most people can't hear it anyway."
